🦶Ankle Compression Socks

Frequently Asked Questions

What are compression socks?

Compression socks are specialized socks that apply gentle pressure to your legs, ankles, and feet. They are designed to improve blood flow and circulation, reduce swelling, and relieve pain and discomfort.

Plusock is committed to providing plus size people with suitable compression socks to help them relieve feet problems.

How do compression socks work?

Compression socks work by applying graduated pressure to the legs, ankles, and feet. The pressure is highest at the ankle and gradually decreases up the leg, helping to improve blood flow and circulation.

What is the compression level for Plusock Compression Socks?

We offer socks in two compression levels.

  • Our socks offer a moderate, 18-25 graduated compression that’s intended to feel like a warm, gentle hug on your legs.
  • Our socks offer a moderate to firm, 20-30 graduated compression which is a medical grade compression level and often comes as a prescription or recommendation by a healthcare provider. Commonly used for moderate edema, lymphedema, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), pre and post-surgical applications, moderate spider and varicose veins.

Are these socks supposed to feel tight?

Yes, they should feel like a really comfortable hug (we call it 'the squeeze') but you shouldn't feel pain or discomfort. It may take a week for your legs to adjust and you may feel a throbbing sensation (that mean's they're working). It's important to find a compression level that addresses your health goals while minimizing discomfort.

How do I care for my compression socks?

Compression socks can be washed by hand or machine on a gentle cycle in lukewarm water.

Avoid using hot water or bleach, as this can damage the socks. Avoid using fabric softeners. Fabric softeners can damage the elastic fibers in compression socks, so it's best to avoid using them.

Air-dry: Compression socks should be air-dried rather than tumble-dried, as heat can damage the elastic fibers. Hang the socks up or lay them flat to dry.
